Happy 4th of July everyone! 232 years ago, the "unlikely story that is America" began with a group of courageous visionaries that defied a powerful empire. That amazing story is still being written today, and Sen. Obama and the grassroots movement that has been energized by his campaign are part of the next great chapter. It is up to all of us to ensure that the story of America continues to inspire.
Today, Sen. Obama and his family - Michelle, Sasha, Malia, his sister Maya Soetoro-Ng, her husband Konrad Ng, and their daughter Suhaila - attended the 4th of July parade in Butte, Montana. I don't know about you, but seeing the amazing diversity of Sen. Obama's family in the picture above is one of the strongest reminders of just how unlikely and how incredible the story of America really is.
