A report from the ground in Pennsylvania from Anna Perng, one of our three terrific AAPI grassroots coordinators in the Philadelphia area along with Matt Chea and Nina Ahmad (I'm particularly impressed by the volunteers from JAPAN! Looks like Sen. Obama's support in Japan goes beyond just the town of Obama):
AAPI for Obama rocks!! Huge thanks to Elizabeth for continuing to organize NYC volunteers! We're lucky to have full-time volunteer Helen Liu (Ramey's Yale classmate!) work with Van. This teamwork is just incredible!
Numbers still coming in, but at last count, our AAPI volunteers this weekend:
*knocked on over 230 doors
*called over 500 people, including over 299 AAPI across PA
*recruited 23 AAPI volunteers
*spoke 6 languages
*canvassed
AAPI sites: 3 stores, 2 shopping centers, 1 Cherry Blossom Festival
event, 1 Cambodian banquet w/ 500 guests (Van spoke!!), and 1 Chinatown.
*500 ppl this week (400 on pateams.barack.com) and API phone call list
*folks came from CT, NYC, D.C
*we are especially grateful to our Japanese volunteers who came all the way from Japan to help out in API outreach
See more AAPI outreach pics from PA after the jump.
